Who LVP is for

LVP is a smart choice for busy families, pet owners, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements and rental properties. Landlords, property managers and business owners like it because it holds up to heavy foot traffic and is easy to keep clean.

Why prep matters: a flat floor underneath

LVP is thin, so it shows what's underneath it. Bumps and dips in the subfloor can cause gaps, clicking, or planks that separate over time. We check flatness and fix high and low spots before installing. Over concrete, we test for moisture and follow the manufacturer's requirements for underlayment and moisture barriers. Floating floors also need space at the walls to expand, which we hide behind trim. We follow the manufacturer's installation instructions on every job.

A note on "waterproof"

Many LVP products are water-resistant on the surface, which makes them a great fit for kitchens, baths and basements. But water can still get underneath at the edges or from a leak, so quick cleanup still matters.

Homes and businesses

We install LVP in busy commercial spaces and in homes. In the shop above, we prepped the subfloor, then laid light wood-look planks the full length of a long, open sales floor, ready for daily customer traffic. Below, warm brown planks run through a large open room, giving one continuous floor from wall to wall. Whatever the space, we'll help you pick a color and plank size that fits it.

LVP Installation FAQ

Can you install LVP over my existing floor?

Sometimes. It depends on the type and condition of the floor underneath, how flat it is, and what the manufacturer allows. We'll check during your free estimate and tell you whether it should come up first.

Should I choose LVP or hardwood?

LVP is a great pick where water, pets or heavy traffic are a concern, and in basements. Real hardwood adds natural warmth and can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. We install both and will help you decide what fits each room.

Can LVP be refinished or repaired?

LVP can't be sanded and refinished like hardwood. If a plank gets badly damaged, it can often be replaced, depending on how the floor was installed. That's one reason we suggest keeping a few spare planks after your project.

How do I care for LVP floors?

Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a damp mop and a cleaner made for vinyl floors. Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entries, and avoid rubber-backed rugs, which can stain some vinyl.

How much does LVP installation cost?

Every project is quoted individually, because room size, the product you choose, subfloor leveling and transitions all change the price. Estimates are free. Call (513) 222-8410 or request one online.
